A delicate and finely painted 19th Century study of a boy fishing in the countryside with two young girls and a dog. The watercolour painting is highlighted with gouache and contains intricate brushstrokes and finer details. The expressive nature of the washes in the background and naturalistic hues adds life and movement to the thoughtfully constructed composition. The picture is displayed to a good standard within a mount and a well presented vintage frame with gilt effect detailing. Signed illegibly in the bottom right hand corner, possibly reading the initial G. followed by the letters MOR. Framing information on the reverse, as shown in the images. Signed illegibly. On wove.
