This “Academia” (pencil and white lead on paper, 48 x 32,5 cm) is the kind of study from live that was the most frequent way of training in Arts Academies since the 18th century.
The guy is depicted fully naked, with a vigorous and muscled body, while he’s pulling some sort of rope, maybe a drapery. The “Titus” hairstyle of the portrayed can be a clue in the dating considering that it was the most common male hairstyle of the first half of the 19th century. It’s unsigned but it can be ascribe to the Italian (most likely Tuscan) environment due to stylistic reasons.
