About the Item

This framed 20.25" x 16.25" drawing by artist Chris Brizzard depicts the portrait of a Rohingya man. This grayscale portrait features a male figure with a hardened, somber expression and a haunting, tired and intense gaze. The work is framed with a white mat and a silver metal frame. (The Rohingya people are a Indo-Aryan ethnic group from Myanmar who have faced years of oppression and genocide by the Myanmar government.) Chris Brizzard started his formal training in Texas in 2013 with Michael Mentler at the Society of Figurative Arts. From 2014 to 2017, he studied drawing and painting at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia under instructors trained by Nelson Shanks. He now teaches drawing and painting at The Oklahoma Academy of Classical Art in Edmond, Oklahoma and Oklahoma Contemporary in Oklahoma City.
