This portrait is of a fisherman sat on a wooden chair smoking his pipe. The fine detail of the painting shows the textures of the man's rain hat and heavy jacket, depicting the nature his work at sea. In the background we are shown a pinned up painting of a boat on the ocean to further confirm the man's profession. Signed and dated in the lower left corner. Well presented in a cream card mount and solid wood frame with gilt details. On wove.
