Late 19th Century Graphite Drawing - Father And Sons

Unknown

About the Item

A very fine graphite drawing with incredibly delicate watercolour bodywork. The drawing shows a proud father standing between his two seated sons. All Three are handsomely dressed in the height of fashion for the 1860s. The inscription at the lower right reads "Mendoza Galleries - 1302 Bond St. W." Mendoza Galleries was a photographic studio in London in the late 19th Century. The inscription indicates that this drawing was done from a photograph taken at this studio. There is a blind stamp to the lower right corner. The drawing is finished with a hand drawn wash-line border. The drawing has been presented in a fine late 19th Century black lacquer frame with carved gilt inner window and and attractive gilt foliate molding at the corners. On wove.
