Henk Serfontein is an award winning South-African artist who has participated in numerous curated exhibitions and presented 12 solo exhibitions in his career. His work has received widespread acclaim and he was the winner of numerous art competitions, including the prestigious New Signitures Award. He holds a degree in Fine Art and has lectured on tertiary level. He has also published widely and regularly contributes articles on art and popular culture to the online publication, Vrye Weekblad. Henk's work is known for it's monochromatic simplicity. He mostly work in charcoal on archival paper and have explored many different themes, ranging from the figurative to, more recently, botanical studies.
