About

2021, ink, colored pencil and graphite on paper, 11 1/8 x 14” unframed Morejohn’s work resembles biomorphic forms and plant life. She is inspired by microscopic images of snow crystals, seeds, and cells. Tree branches, flowers, and fires also enter her visual vocabulary, weaving together in a turbulent tension. “I often think about how rainfall shapes the world; how it is both necessary for life, yet in excess can bring catastrophic damage. By drawing I can collapse multiple views of nature, envisioning an unsettled ecology between visible and invisible forces.”
