Tatiana Flis
"Ripple Idly", contemporary, blues, house, white, graphite, gouache, drawing

2017

About the Item

Tatiana Flis’ “Ripple Idly” is an 8 x 10 inch graphite and gouache drawing on thick rag paper with a deckled edge. Rich blues and indigos shine with white and shimmering silver stars inside the outline of a house on stilts. The only two windows have quilted curtains that create a three dimensional quality. Graphite clouds hover around the apex of the house adding a dreamlike feeling. The drawing is float mounted in a simple black frame, and is signed in the lower right corner. Framed dimensions are 10 x 12 x 1 inches. Tatiana Flis is a mixed-media artist working primarily in sculpture and drawing. In using a surrealist language, she creates subtle forms and images that explore relationships between the human psyche and moments of chaos, solitude, tension, excess and absence. Her work has been shown extensively and is in many private collections. Flis is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
