Tree of Knowledge II (Tapestry of Nature) : abstract work of art
Located in New York, NY
Abstract work of art with figurative elements by Elizabeth Myers Castonguay. Her work is dedicated to creating art about human equality and preservation of the biodiversity of nature. This painting is a complex work of art that incorporates abstraction and figurative elements. One can notice images of books, human hands, bitten apple and even an entire beautiful landscape in this canvas. Stark contrast of dark background with bright shapes and elements create drama and tension. This work can become a unique gift and will be a wonderful addition to any space, be it a living room of a modern home or a lobby of a commercial building. Elizabeth Myers Castonguay is an accomplished artist, whose work was exhibited at Denise Bibro...

Blossom Blizzard, Stanmer Park, Sussex; Spring landscape with Gold leaf
Located in London, GB
Print detail: Painting like photographic print, Printed on Museum Glass and Hand Gilded with Gold leaf in custom made frame. 41 x 57 cm (Framed) Glass Print from Edition of 1/5 Series: Blossom Blizzard (New Print on Glass edition 2022) Shipping: The print on glass would be packed and into wooden crate for artwork protection and shipped with professional art shippers. About the work: "Despite T.S. Eliot's assertion that 'April is the cruellest month', I invariably feel a sudden surge of wellbeing and optimism when the first scent of spring hangs in the air. I know I'm far from alone in this - photographers and artists surely feel that sense of excitement as keenly as any gardener eagerly rifling though their seed packets. Mother Nature, it seems, is handing us our images on a plate. The light is soft and benign, the colours, gentle, and the countryside seems to suddenly be filled with boundless enthusiasm. Quotes such as 'Spring is nature's way of reminding us that every day is worthy of celebration' pop up on social media with unfailing regularity - long before the first cuckoo is heard. This image was taken at Stanmer Park, just outside of Brighton. A blustery day in early April, the air was filled with the sweet smell of April and the profligacy and exuberance of the new growth emerging was inspirational. Blossom-laden branches were everywhere but I concentrated on one small tree that stood apart from the rest. For reasons unclear, its tiny flowers seemed whiter, fluffier, altogether more generous than that of any of its neighbours. It was bitterly cold. The type of cold that can only be experienced when one has left home in overly optimistic clothing, only to realise that the wind chill factor hadn't been accounted for when getting dressed. I struggled on for about half an hour - reluctant to retreat to the warmth of the nearby cafe and the very enticing appeal of a cup of coffee. Fortunately, my inspiration came quickly - as the tiny petals blew around my head and I stood there shivering in all my reckless optimism, I realised it felt like nothing more than being encased in one of those half-domed snow globes. The fiercest blizzard was surely never this intense. I certainly couldn't imagine it ever being this cold. Photographic perfection is not my objective. Its obedient conformity initially attracts, but, for me, leaves little enticement to investigate further. So it was that the tangled complexity of branches and the disparate arrangement of blossom engaged, rather than frustrated my aspirations. By layering image upon image, frame upon frame, I was able to build up the layers of blossom and emphasise the movement of the branches. All photographic images represent a moment in time. The way I make my images combine several. I walked around the tree, back and forth trying to engage with the long-limbed gaucheness of its extended branches. The colour palette needed little intervention; I don't think anybody makes a paint called 'blustery blue' but perhaps they should. This contrasted beautifully with the jade and emerald grass, subsequently overlaid with soft white snowflakes and created, what for me, was a very pleasing and fresh arrangement of seasonal colours." - Valda Bailey

All That Remains, Abstract Sculpture (Ceramic and Steel), 2020
Located in Boston, MA
Artist Commentary: I constructed this piece from the setters I used to fire the ceramic pieces of another sculpture along with some of the glaze test tiles. "Ventaglio Earrings" a contemporary, fine gauge stainless steel earrings
Located in Morgan Hill, CA
Crafted by the brilliant mind of Taos, New Mexico based Jeweler/ Metal Smith, Julie Lake. The Ventaglio Earrings are a stunning pair of contemporary jewelry. Featuring layers of three-dimensional geometric lines with a long earring thread made from highly polished stainless steel wire. Bio Julie Lake hand fabricates her metal work exclusively from a spring tempered, fine gauge stainless steel. She uses an arc welding process at precise settings to join the metal by melting and fusing it together at the tiny joints. The nature of this stainless steel, along with the welding process, allows Lake to create complex and visually fragile, yet deceptively strong forms with very small diameter wires. Although the welding of steel is typically regarded as an industrial process, Lake likens her technique to the domestic act of sewing or knitting. By way of welding, she methodically and repetitively stitches together the threads of stainless steel which accumulate into larger forms. Her decision to only create with this very specific material is quite minimalistic, but Lake engages with the material with multidisciplinary intent. Her work spans from large scale art installation, to design-driven functional items, to wearable and decorative pieces rooted in fine craft. This multidisciplinary approach allows the individual pieces to cross-pollinate with and inform each other. Lake's training as a maker started at a very young age. Mother and Me
Located in New Orleans, LA
Framed Dimensions: 11h x 11w in Alexander Stolin, born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine (under the former Soviet Socialist Republic), where he received intensive training and a master of fine arts degree in his homeland’s traditional art academies. He immigrated to San Francisco in 1992, met his future wife in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, then married and settled in New Orleans. He maintains a home and studio in Madisonville, Louisiana, and is a significant but understated figure in the New Orleans art community. As art critic D. Eric Bookhardt suggested in 2002, “Stolin is more accomplished than he is famous.” His art, often exhibited in thematic series that incorporate a variety of media, ranges from intimate portraits to large-scale murals (one measuring twelve feet by seventy-two feet). He has worked on a progressively larger scale, most recently designing and painting projects for the Louisiana film industry. Stolin’s technically proficient and complexly layered art reflects a unique fusion of the academic training he received in Kiev and his evolving response to the very different culture, lifestyle, and subject matter he has discovered in New Orleans, Madisonville, and the Gulf South. Stolin was born on August 30, 1963. His art abilities were quickly recognized when in fourth grade he qualified for admission to the State School of Art in Kiev, which he attended from 1975 to 1981. He decided to concentrate on book illustration and graphic arts, and after graduating he was accepted into the Ivan Fedorov Polygraphic Institute in Moscow, where he studied from 1982 to 1988, graduating with a master of fine arts degree in 1988. He trained as a printmaker, creating etchings and lithographs, and as a graphic designer, and worked as a designer in Kiev. “I illustrated mysteries, science fiction, and different magazines,” he said. In 1988, after his family visited relatives in San Francisco, California, the Stolins decided to immigrate to the United States, a process that took four years. In 1992, Stolin and his parents immigrated to San Francisco, and he worked for graphic design and print businesses in nearby Emeryville, California. During a trip to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he was visiting cousins, Stolin met Mary Kay Holmes. The couple soon married and moved to New Orleans, where Stolin established himself as a working artist and began to exhibit in local galleries and group exhibitions. The art Stolin began to create in New Orleans demonstrated his technical skills, knowledge of art history, and the evolving range of his subject matter, reflected from one series and exhibition to the next, yet it was challenging for critics to classify his work. This was evident in the series Stolin exhibited during his first decade in the city, beginning with Byzantium on the Bayou (1993–1994), which combined historical Byzantine art references with New Orleans and Mardi Gras subjects, such as Mardi Gras Madonna and Adoration of St. Gator. In his Midnight Dessert series (1995–1997), he created works such as Tea in Manhattan and Rembrandt and Nathan, a large painting that Bookhardt described as “a vision of Rembrandt and various Dutch masters promenading down the sidewalk past Nathan’s Deli in New York.” Following that, he completed The Water Series (1998–1999), featuring reflective and heavily worked surfaces in paintings such as Reflections #2 and Study of Fish and Swimmers. Stolin’s Face to Face series of portraits, completed from 2000 to 2002, featured New Orleans artists including Douglas Bourgeois...

Not Today, Contemporary Black and White Photographic Print on Metal
Located in Boston, MA
Not Today, Contemporary Black and White Photograph, 2021 24" 16" x 0.75" (HxWxD) Digital Print on Aluminium Hand-signed by the artist. As with the concept of memento mori, this black and white photographic portrait brings together life and death in close proximity. The skull is held closely to the human's body, as if the bones now take the place of their own head. Taxidermy and preserved animal bones bring the living face-to-face with the fleeting nature of life, adding to our cabinet of curiosities. This work by Amanda Lomax conjures up thoughts of Georgia O'Keeffe and her time spent out west in New Mexico's desert landscape. Artist Commentary: Donald is a professional model, gem collector, and all around Renaissance Man. When we found this unusual skull of a three horned ram, it seemed as unique and special as he is. Sometimes we feel like facing the world head on. Sometimes we feel like presenting ourselves behind a three-horned sheep skull.

Crafted by the brilliant mind of New Mexico based jeweler, Julie Lake. The Trace Necklace is a visually delicate, yet deceptively strong, complex architectural necklace. Featuring layers of interwoven three-dimensional geometric and organic shaped links, created from highly polished stainless steel wire.
