Artist Commentary: Years ago while on a hunt for compositions to photograph, I came across a splattered wall. I was in an industrial area in northeast Los Angeles and driving through an alley behind some warehouses. I stopped in front of a wall that had tar running down from a roof that had undergone some repairs. The tar patterns reminded me of art by Joan Mitchell or Jackson Pollock. He has been exhibiting his work for decades, and has an extensive bibliography.
