Anna Pennati
"Double portrait in green" by Anna Pennati, acrilyc on canvas

2010

About the Item

The theme of the double portrait dates back to antiquity to the Etruscans, through the masterpieces of Piero della Francesca, to Modigliani and many other artists. Anna Pennati has placed the portrait of a man and a woman on this small canvas. It is precisely the small size that accentuates the character of the characters. The basic colour in this case is green, representing the emanation the artist perceived when observing the people portrayed. Figurative works consist of determined, strong signs, independent from the figure itself. Signs that decompose and recompose the image that appear to the viewer a little at a time, almost shyly, and then become present, clear, exciting. These are the works of Anna Pennati, true works of art, rich in emotions that penetrate the mind of the observer until it fell in love. Work published in a catalogue and exhibited in various exhibitions. Acquired from the artist's personal collection and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Exhibitions : 2010 - Nati negli anni 50, 60, 70 - Maestrale -Milano

  • Back to Itaca by Anna Pennati alchemy series - acrylic on canvas - 80x100cm
    Located in Milano, MI
Return to Ithaca is part of a series of works dedicated to the myth of the Odyssey. Anna Pennati has always been attentive to the theme of mythology, a subject on which she has developed a large number of works. Stylistically, the work falls among the artist's Alchemy, where the human form slowly disappears to make way for abstract forms that are actually the sublimation of figures. We can in fact see Ulysses here not only as a man, but in his entire evocative power, his archetypal. The return to Ithaca actually represents the return to our deepest origin. Important work that has been shown in several exhibitions and is now exceptionally made available for the market.
