Christine Graf is inspired by nature and biomorphic forms in the creation of her assemblages, approaching her work with a deep reverence for the abundance of plant and sea life and the beauty of the earth. Her practice incorporates a wide range of mixed media, including raw canvas, tea, bookbinding threads, wood boxes, vintage and altered papers, rusted metal, encaustics, and paint. Rooted in process, her work embraces the principles of Wabi Sabi, honoring the passage of time, the fragility of nature, and the cycles of life and decay.
