About the Item
My artwork is deeply personal, rooted in both past experiences and present moments that shape my identity. I draw inspiration from the landscapes of the Southwest — their vast, textured beauty — and integrate elements of nature, human figures, and symbolism to tell layered visual stories.
The surfaces of my paintings often reflect the rugged terrain I grew up with, while the colors and forms are infused with emotional memory. I use a combination of textures to mirror the complexity of the land and the lives intertwined with it. Mysterious, often surreal figures appear in my work, representing memory, spirit, and ancestral presence. These elements reflect the emotional and spiritual landscape of my world.
At the heart of my work is a deep reverence for my family and Navajo culture. Through each piece, I explore themes of identity, heritage, resilience, and connection. My paintings serve as a kind of self-portrait — not just of who I am, but where I come from and how I continue to grow.
