About the Item
This copper plate print with collage on paper has insect-like creatures that swirl around the composition. The washes of goldenrod, cadmium red, and alizarin almost engulf the tranquil blue of the insects. The collage creates a surface that gives the piece a sense of depth. The insects could be in their pupa stage, symbolizing the beginning of life. This print is one of one. Sold unframed, it is signed by the artist in the front.
Born in Peru, Cynthia Capriata is a New York based visual artist and art educator. Capriata was recognized for her work integrating visual arts and social sciences with special education students by The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation (2004).
