About the Item
‘The Light Bringers’, 2023, is Latex and charcoal work, have the quality of movement, the heads turning and twisting, as if in prayer. These series of 6 works are almost biblical, tremendously emotive, thoughts in movement.
The exhibition is the culmination of four year’s work. When he began, the focus was solely on his father, however, it developed into something more with reflection of his relationship with his father which manifested to self portraits, with the artist metaphorically ‘putting the mirrors up on the walls' and then subsequently portraits of his own children - 'Light Bringer series'.

The exhibition at GALLERY46, through mainly self portraits, explores the artist’s approach of layering, constructing and reworking in his painting practice - bruising and delicate, understood from his tender relationship and journey with his father. A beautiful and sometime dark portrayal of unconditional love.
