By Jean-Baptiste Bernadet
Located in Dallas, TX
Metal Frame 5 section panel. Each canvas has a panel with hooks to attach it to the next. Very Heavy.
The painter Jean-Baptiste Bernadet is fluent in a number of styles—minimal, monochromatic, gestural, impressionistic—and works in scales both large and small. In his new “brush strokes” paintings—which will be on view at New York’s American Contemporary gallery June 11 through August 10—repeated marks accumulate for an effect that hovers between the recognizable and the abstract. “I don’t feel any certainty about life, so I want my work to reflect that uncertainty,” says Bernadet, 36, who was born in Paris and is based in Brussels. “I will never be the kind of artist who does one thing.”
But, as American Contemporary founder Matthew Dipple says, “while his approach doesn’t have a linear structure, everything he does is interconnected.” If there is a constant in Bernadet’s work, it’s that there is no constant: He is dependably restless and mercurial, always exploring painting...

Under the sea Series Nº 7. Úbeda. Fantasy underwater landscape.
Oil on paper, (H) 41 x (W) 31 x (D) 0.1 cm.
Author: Úbeda.
The sheets that make up this project evoke a dreamlike world of seabeds. The painter submerges landscapes, forests, materials and terrestrial objects under the cold and silent ocean currents. A feeling of weightlessness dominates the viewer, while the moon floats between anemones, sea urchins and posidonia forests. The blue-green darkness is broken up with nuclei and horizons of light, contrasting with the ambiguous and mysterious atmosphere of the compositions.
THECHNIQUE
The work has been carried out with an innovative technique, where the fluidized oil is transformed into an undulating sea, to create impossible shapes on paper, which are later outlined by the airbrush, the palette knife and the brush. A totally personal bet of the author, who has done an exercise in free painting, with an explosion of contrasts between the real world and abstraction.

"Selling Hope" Oil on Paper painting 30" x 39" inch by Patricio Gonzalez
From "Looking for Happiness" series
LOOKING FOR HAPPINESS
Like "el dorado", a cultural construction, a myth, the Looking for happiness series talks about the illusion of happiness.
Using coordinates between different geographical points and world views, seeking to generate a dialogue between stories.
In this way, places speak to tell us about degraded utopias, religious crusades, martyrs and oppressors, wars, victories, and defeats. All searches for what cannot be found.
The infinite existing possibilities, in this continuous present and its accumulation, to be history. The utopian idea of achieving completeness or completeness.
The transformation of the fabric into jewelry, the transmutation that moves from the sacred to the economic.
The "object of desire" is the engine of life and its different permutations.

Ricardo Mulero is fascinated with capturing the brilliance of light and the contrast of natural beauty with utilitarian landscapes. Here, Mulero focuses on an abstracted New York City rooftop where water towers stand in the distance. Contrasts in light and shadow accentuate the urban landscape's geometric forms and highlight bold color palettes of blue, black, and grey. The piece is in excellent condition and ready to hang.
