RECREATE, REGENERATE, RECYCLE After 54 years since my first show I am still fascinated by working in 3 dimensions – maybe because I cant draw or more likely because sculpture holds some obtuse subconscious obligation. It is still addictive and highly satisfying despite the onus of molding, casting, welding, polishing, fitting in a tough work environment before the final satisfaction of seeing the piece come together as envisaged. Living in the Mountains provides the creative impetus, being surrounded by rocks, rivers, the detritus of erosion, geomorphology and all natures destructive force has inspired an eclectic, very personal and organic bias to my work – an appreciation of random forms, diverse textures and all the unexpected creativity of the natural world where no line is perfect. Working first as a welder on a thermos electric plant in the mountains behind Bogota in 1962, then non ferrous studies with British Oxygen and a move to Spain 1965, coupled with a fascination for travel and different cultures has led to carving in Thailand, casting in Java, hammer welding in Rajasthan, silver in Bali and wood in Ghana. Life has been a wonderful learning curve thanks to artisans around the world who have taught me their inherited skills and techniques leading me to a fusion of materials and helping amplify the creative possibilities in my work. At “ Space Gallery “ in Denver, Colorado I will be showing a collection of my latest work, brought from Spain but inspired by many visits to your magnificent “ Rockies “. - Probability Deep Blue 4 - elegant, curved, abstract, glass, wall sculptureBy John Paul RobinsonLocated in Bloomfield, ONJohn Paul Robinson creates original contemporary wall sculptures from coloured glass that are filled with light. This piece features elegant arched deep blue tubes of glass that are polished to a smooth finish and overlap one another to create a dynamic composition. The Canadian artist often explores themes related to how the world works. This is one of a series intended to represent the dual nature of light as both a particle and a wave. In physics, the wave nature of light is referred to as a "probability wave". “The thickness of the glass and curvature of the lens conspire to create their own optical effect. As your gaze moves across the piece it causes the small grains of coloured glass to shift just a bit. Starry Starry Night...Category

- Burnished Rose - Contemporary Original Tabletop Metal SculptureBy Atticus AdamsLocated in Los Angeles, CAAtticus Adams' organically composed modern metal sculptures embody the transformative power of contemporary art, illustrating the creation of beauty, meaning, and emotional impact from industrial materials. Using mostly aluminum mesh—generally found in screen doors, windows, and filters—he creates contemporary abstract sculptural artworks and installations, which resemble flowers, clouds, and other natural phenomena. Working in metal, Adams effortlessly transforms rigid material into airy, effervescent artworks. This 15-inch high by 10-inch wide by 8-inch deep tabletop sculpture is created with copper mesh, gesso, acrylic paint, rivets, and wire on a metal stand. Size and price include stand. Atticus works spontaneously, feeling his way toward the objects that take shape in his mind as he shapes them almost entirely by hand. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Atticus grew up in West Virginia, steeped in traditional folk art. Several members of his family are self-taught artists, deeply involved in such crafts as wood carving and quilting. His formal art training includes stints at Yale, Rhode Island School of Design, and Harvard’s School of Architecture. Atticus has fond summer memories of screened-in porches back home and screen doors that practically dissolved the barrier between inside and outside, allowing the warmth and nature to permeate each day. This association continues to resonate in his art. “Metal mesh is a beautiful, flexible material that allows you to explore shadow and transparency in endless ways,” he says. “The material lends itself to these biomorphic shapes, which aren’t necessarily intentional . . . The sculptures seem fragile but are actually quite resilient—like nature itself.” A well-known sculptor, the organically inspired artworks of Atticus Adams are held in public and private collections and are exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States. - Probability Deep Blue 2 - abstract, curved, glass, suspended wall sculptureBy John Paul RobinsonLocated in Bloomfield, ONCanadian artist John Paul Robinson has chosen a deep blue for this elegant glass wall sculpture. Six arched pieces of translucent glass are suspended by fine steel cables…each crisscrossing the other in a graceful composition. His glass work is inspired by nature’s elements—earth, wind, fire and water—all of which sustain life. For Robinson, this piece is symbolic of an iconic physics experiment that explored the dual nature of light. Light exhibits both particle and wave-like behaviour. “It’s important to me that my work be about something. So, I spend a lot of time reading, writing and basically researching ideas (often science-based) and issues that inform my work.” John Paul Robinson He was educated at the Georgian College of Arts and Technology and the Ontario College of Art where he later taught for several years. Robinson is a Fellow of The Creative Glass Center of America, recipient of the Joan Chalmers Glass Award and has twice received the Best Glass Award at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. Robinson has had solo exhibitions in Montreal, Toronto, Palm Beach, Quebec City and Chicago. His works are in corporate, private and public collections throughout North America. Robinson is represented exclusively by Oeno Gallery.Category
