Amorphe Mythen #7 Mixed Media
Amorphous Myths is a continuous series in which the techniques of painting and collage mix form an organic universe of abstract landscapes with figurative elements.
The materials used are various types of paper, photocopies, coffee filters, acrylic paint, bitumen and glue. The works question the boundaries between reality and illusion - a myth, so to speak, that connects both worlds and in which the amorphous elements escape rational thinking. The present, with its tendency towards fragmentation, invites the viewer to reflect on established realities and their validity. One can discover a point of stillness in the images, which is, however, in a constant flux of change.
Due to constant experiments, mixed media is the focus of the artist's work. Inspired by everyday events, femininity and the idea of transformation, Elfi Nitze develops her works around the question of organic universes - something that lies between figurative and abstract art floats. Hybrid compositions between imaginary landscape forms and figures with surreal aspects emerge from impulse or momentary will.
