About the Item
This is a collage of proofs of etchings that I had saved for years then one day I decided to construct new images from them. They are dry point, aqua tint with the addition of paint and pencil to create a cohesive piece. These are images based on childhood memories and stories of my parent's war time experiences.
The central figures of mother and child instigated the process, and triggered thoughts of the past, people long gone including myself as I was

Evy Olsen Halvorsen (aka Halvorsen Holstein) was born in northern Norway and cur-rently lives in Kingston WA. Evy and her parents immigrated in 1956 to the neighborhood of Ballard in Seattle WA. After graduation from High School, and some community college, Evy moved briefly to San Francisco before landing in Kitsap County with husband and daugh-ters. After raising her daughters, owning a couple of businesses, she continued her educa-tion at Cornish College of the Arts, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts, cum laude in 1999, in Painting and Printmaking.
