About the Item

"I don’t see shapes as much as I see the energy of elements interacting to move, stop, support or explode. I mostly use clean bright color to keep my world hot and alive. My paintings are like a snap-shot record - trapping moments of an event where something beautiful happened." James Moore This work will be featured in our upcoming exhibition, All That I've Seen: Paintings, Sculpture, and Works on Paper by James Moore (1938 - 2013). On view June 27 through August 30, 2018.

Charles Pulsford ARSA (1912 - 1989) Abstract Figure in Yellow and Blue Watercolour and ink with wax resist 56 x 38 cm Signed lower right. An abstract figure in arresting colours. The artist plays with the intersection of round and lateral mark-making to form a human figure, perhaps reminiscent of a crucifixion. He, along with other prominent Scottish artists, embraced modernism and abstraction following the end of the war. Alan Davie, William...
