About the Item

Jasper Leadbeater, Money Lending Business, 2025 Upcycled shotgun shells and spraypaint 58 x 70 cm (22.8 x 27.56 in) Edition of 6 Jasper is completely self taught. Having started his journey with a background in fine art and a passion for drawing, years of pencil commissions soon followed and became the foundations of what was to come. Curiosity led him to experiment with shotgun shells and he created the Ho Chi Minh piece in 2014, under the theme of 'War and Peace'. Having refined this unique medium over the years, immersion in the countryside gave inspiration to his first collection of works; combining the traditional country sport of shooting game with a contemporary approach to animal portraiture, creating original pieces using intricately hand-drawn and hand-cut stencils with spray paint. Progress and experimentation has led Jasper to focus his recent works on pop culture references and cinematic icons. A gritty, show-stopping portrait of Vinnie Jones, inspired by his iconic role in Guy Ritchie’s cult classic Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Constructed from upcycled shotgun shell casings, this powerful mixed media piece fuses urban art with industrial materials, capturing the raw energy and bravado of British gangster cinema. The golden brass shell backdrop contrasts sharply with the black-and-white figure, echoing the stylized tension of 1990s crime films. More than just a portrait, Vinnie is a tribute to the explosive visual style made famous by Guy Ritchie, and a clever reuse of materials once associated with violence, now transformed into fine art. Professionally framed in a brushed metallic frame, this original artwork is perfect for collectors of urban art, contemporary mixed media, or fans of British film legends. Caine is Carter - Shotgun Shell Art Michael Caine/ Get Carter Portrait
Located in Manchester, GB
Jasper Leadbeater, Caine is Carter, 2024 Mixed media Edition of 12 58 x 70 cm (22.83 x 27.56 in) Sustainability has become the main drive behind the work I create, to make something unique out of what would otherwise be waste. Tens of thousands of shells are used on average per day, per shooting school across the whole of the UK. Due to the cost and lengthy procedure of separating the plastic from the metal, the spent shells are usually burnt, or put into landfill. A powerful homage to Michael Caine in his most iconic role as Jack Carter from the 1971 British gangster classic Get Carter. This bold portrait is crafted entirely from upcycled shotgun shell casings, forming a striking black-and-white image of Carter mid-action, gun drawn, eyes cold with vengeance. Set against a backdrop of gleaming brass shells and punctuated with the film’s bold yellow title text, this artwork is a masterful fusion of cinematic nostalgia and contemporary urban art. The recycled materials lend texture, weight, and meaning — turning weapons of violence into a tribute to British film history. Ideal for collectors of Michael Caine memorabilia, British noir, or industrial mixed media, this piece captures the ruthless charm and cool menace of a screen legend. medium: hardcover book, acrylic varnish My decades-long career in contemporary jazz directly informs my work as a visual artist.  Music, for me, has always had a visual component, with the diverse elements of music suggesting colors, shapes, and textures.  The juxtaposition of abstract shapes which come together as I work on a book, is very much how I perceive the interplay of melody, harmony, and rhythm. Improvisation is also key to my approach in both genres.  Within a jazz ensemble...
