This small ceramic vessel by Connecticut-based ceramicist, Jon Puzzuoli, is made with glazed turquoise porcelain. The base is a light, textured blue color, with a two-tiered glaze that covers the top half of the body. A translucent white and deep umber glaze are almost layered one on top of the other. The deep umber glaze, which is at the top of the body, blends seamlessly with the uniquely-shaped mouth of the piece, which is a solid deep umber color and is embellished with a 18k gold luster.
Jon Puzzuoli is a full time ceramicist of 16 years. His life is absorbed in clay, both creating and teaching. Jon’s passion emanates from educating others in the art of pottery. Jon is Head of the Ceramics Department at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan and Co-Chair of it’s almost 300 Guild Artists. Developing unique glazes and growing crystals on the surface of his wares are a particular focus.
