About the Item
Celebrating the joining of shapes and patterns, artist Kerith Lisi invites the viewer to join her in viewing the grid-like nature of Terrace. Featuring perpendicular rows that descend the composition, Terrace is a perfect visual metaphor for the unique architecture we casually witness each day. The neutral earth tones provide vibrating energy and warm light. Terrace measures 11"w x 21"h x 1.5"d and comes fastened with d-rings and picture wire.
About the Artist:
Experience the unexpected in Kerith Lisi's upcycled hardcover book collages. By using everyday materials, she reveals the beauty of their wear and tear, and explores universal ideas of the human experience: nostalgia, second chances, and imperfection.
Kerith's process of assembling her compositions allows her to completely let go of expectations and remain present while allowing her materials to guide her creations. Piecing together cohesive compositions, she incorporates a mixture of unique textures, bold colors, and obscured text into her work. For her, the search for source materials that speak to a history is as enjoyable as the end product itself.
Kerith Lisi is an interdisciplinary artist based in San Carlos, CA. She studied at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and earned a BA in International Relations from UC Davis. Her work has been exhibited at Bay Area galleries and museums including, the de Young Museum and Marin Museum of Contemporary Art.
