About the Item

It was one of those rare days when sheets of ice simultaneously creating treacherous conditions and stunningly out-of-this-world experiences. The artist braved the weather firmly committed to finding a gem that spoke to her in the language of abstraction found in representative work. Caught in a sweet spot of frozen glory, captivated joy evoked wistful emotions with realism blending into fantasy. Created at the intersection of art + science the artist used old world techniques + 21st century technology to sculpturally create a dimensional interactive work. Appearing differently from 180 degree vantage points and from varying angles of incidence, photons dance across the hand cut aluminum. This work was made in the artist studio in the former Moross House Museum, the oldest brick dwelling in Detroit, MI, circa 1840.
