About the Item

Coming from the world of Street art, Lis Sam is a self-taught artist. Born in Tunisia in 1989, he arrived in France at the age of 11, where he entered the world of craftsmanship, developing a keen appreciation for aesthetic forms. As is often the case for many artists, his newfound passion was sparked by a chance encounter with a piece of art during a trip. Working on various projects over several years, it was a second encounter that became a clear calling when he visited a butterfly conservatory in the south of France. That's when the "blossoming girls" were born. The "Blossoming Girls" project has its origins in a visit to a butterfly conservatory in the south of France. The multitude of colorful butterflies gracefully fluttering around me occasionally creates abstract silhouettes, much like a child watching clouds, where imaginary faces appear. Captivated by the beauty of the spectacle before me, this suspended moment is a moment of grace. The exuberant flora of the conservatory forms a backdrop where the colors of the butterflies resonate with those of the flowers. An impression of intense life emanates from this spectacle and pushes me to capture it. The creative work begins with the preparation of shots in the studio, by imagining the floral settings that will serve as a support for his works Lis Sam's work can be described as both contemporary and optical art. In fact, as you move around the work, depending on your perspective, you'll see a unique work of art. Through his unique and enigmatic artworks, Lis Sam creates a world where felines blend harmoniously with the delicate beauty of flowers. Using thousands of carefully selected butterflies, each piece is a celebration of nature and its diversity. Butterflies, symbols of transformation and lightness, metamorphose into majestic felines, representing both grace and power. Their union with the flowers, blending beauty and fragility, evokes a delicate balance between strength and delicacy. As we admire this WILD collection, we are transported into a universe where the boundaries between animal, vegetation, and human blur, inviting us to redefine our relationship with the natural world. By weaving real, naturalized butterflies into his creations, Lis Sam invites viewers into the captivating world of a butterfly sanctuary. It's a vibrant tapestry of colors and textures. The naturalized butterflies seamlessly complement the floral headpieces worn by the models, forging a perfect union of nature and art. In his own distinctive manner, Lis Sam brings to life the mesmerizing ambiance of a butterfly sanctuary.

CARLA C - Bonbon Flowers
Located in PARIS, FR
Carla was born in Rome on 23 April 1998. Since she was a child she has felt a strong artistic vocation and a great passion for fashion. For many years she searched for her way in the world of art through experimentation: cutting clothes, painting on canvas, writing... The spark was ignited in 2019, while Carla was attending fashion school in her hometown, when she and her family, who have always collected vintage luxury handbags, began designing her own flowers starting with roses. The following year Carla learned modeling techniques as a self-taught, beginning to elaborate on her vision and bring her vocation to life. Thus were born Carla's works, the perfect synthesis of her two great loves: handbags and nature's most precious gift: Flowers. Always a collector of handbags, as a child Carla spent her days looking at them, studying them and adoring them . Influenced by the currents of the early 2000s, Carla acquired a unique romantic pop style. Flowers are the other constant in her life and that of her family, the natural element that has always fascinated her. Roses as a gift from nature, as a gift for someone we love, as a gift for ourselves. Unfortunately short-lived. Her creations are Carla's answer to this urgency: to stop time and make the love of bags and flowers eternal. Carla gives her works uniqueness, creating special and unique boxes...

ABOUT: Every year, the gallery owner curates the show to best exemplify the 56 exhibited artists’ strengths and aesthetics, remaining cohesively linked by Robin’s extensive knowledge of her artists and of photography. “This is my favorite exhibit, even though it takes months to curate and a week to install,” says Robin. “It is my curatorial showcase.” From floor to ceiling, the walls of the gallery rooms are a mosaic of nearly a hundred photographs, their various sizes, color schemes and subject matter expertly laid out to fit together like the pieces of an eclectic puzzle. This year’s invitational image, “Beach Samba” by Patricia Heal, is a portrait of a woman in a large, orange-red sunhat, whose downward gaze obscures her face entirely. Blurring the line between photography and painting, the color palette and uniquely large grain pattern of the photograph is reminiscent of Georges Seurat’s pointillism...
