About the Item
This is a new painting and part of my 'grasses' series. I have been interested in the complexity of line this year having shifted from painting and drawing flowers in 2022. My goal was to add mystery and movement. This particular piece is different from the others in the grasses series. There is an 8 x 11 mylar drawing (collage) added to the surface which started the theme of lines and circles. There is life contained in the imagery -- the messiness of life in the green sections, and the contrast between seasons - the black and white of a winter garden, the black circles like berries among the twigs. A thicket. Yes, grasses among the lines amidst the organic and botanical imagery throughout. The materials are oil stick, oil paint, mylar, charcoal, graphite.
