About the Item

Canvas 3D ‘The Way’ 2016 Linen yarn, textile stripe, stainless steel wall hanger; size of the textile: 134 x 70 cm (140 cm circuit). Canvases 3D are decorative fabrics entirely designed and created on a weaving loom. They appear as single decorative forms (wallhangins) as well as, they can create larger compositions. Thanks to spatial constructions fabrics fully enhance their structure. Textiles are constructed on a loom by using a painting technique of glazing – an application of transparent or semi-transparent layers on each other. A study on the theory of colours is an important stage in the design of these fabrics. The innovation consists in assembling the work using a specially designed spatial wall hanger made of stainless steel. This arrangement highlights the three-dimensional values of the fabric, allowing it to move freely at a certain distance from the wall. Canvases 3D might be also exposed on standing unique aluminium constructions which allow to present the work independently, as an object in the architectural space. Visible on the additional photo. The size of the construction is 200 x 42 x 37 cm. Geometric shape and silver colour of aluminium is juxtaposed with the semi - transparent, irregular, haptic features of woven linen forms. The price on the standing stand will be a little higher and the shipping price will also be more expensive. Marta Pokojowczyk's inspiration for the production of fabrics is the color perspective in nature and the horizon line - the limit of the apparent contact between the sky and the surface of the earth. Marta Pokojowczyk born in 1985 in Wrocław, Poland, graduated Art History at the University of Wroclaw and Painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Art and Design in Wroclaw. In 2014/2015 attended a transboundary program Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs in 'Helena Loermans Handwoven Textiles’ Atelier in Odemira, Portugal. Entering the discipline of weaving is the crucial point in artist’s practice which let the author to deepen the issue of the canvas as a groundwork (basis for painting). Designing 3-dimensional textile objects which interweave fine and applied arts is a transposition of the artpiece from a sphere of a pure view directly into the human environment. In 2017 Marta set up Interweave Studio - Atelier where art interlaces with craft and humanities. She is artistically connected with Wroclaw, Suprasl (Podlaskie Voivodeship) and Odemira. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland (2019). Based in Barcelona, we specialize in shaping unique pieces through a fusion of culture, architecture, and contemporary art. Founded 14 years ago, ELIURPI originally gained recognition for our sculptural hats. Over time, our artistic scope has broadened to encompass sculptures and art-design pieces. Recently, we showcased our latest creations at the Milan Fair, including an individual exhibition at Palazzo Litta titled "Shadows and Poems," inspired by Junichiro Tanizaki’s "In Praise of Shadows," which extols chiaroscuro as the pinnacle of beauty. Raffia served as the central material uniting all exhibited pieces, creating a harmonious narrative throughout the exhibition space. Our professional and personal lives intertwine, enriching our distinctive artistic language that blends cultural traditions with contemporary aesthetics. We draw inspiration from the interplay of light and shadow, while craftsmanship, creativity, and integrity guide our use of natural materials such as wood, straw, raffia, linen, and silk. Notable milestones include our ongoing exhibitions during ARCO week in Madrid, as well as appearances in international art galleries and craft biennials. In 2023, our work "Sculptural Head Object...

Structural tapestry, my interpretation of contemporary, traditional Ukrainian folk art. I saw the idea and the visual form of the sculpture as a picture in my imagination just the other day, and I immediately wanted to try to implement it, because. I don’t always fully understand how in the process it will be possible to realize what was conceived. This tapestry differs from others in that it has a form, a small volume created from wooden sticks and wire. And then the usual textiles. This tapestry is part of the project on my idea before the war, I continue to implement my ideas old and new. My arrival home gives me new strength and ideas. Despite the danger of living in a frontline city. My new tapestry is a modern interpretation of classic tapestries...
