About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s “Cochlear Cornucopia” is a 15 x 22 inch surreal collage on an abstract acrylic drip painting with dark purple, green, pink, blue, and white. Crisp, elongated paint drips become splattered and watery as they move across the page and contain birds, mushrooms, broccoli, a chair, a faucet, and other whimsical items. Variations with texture and scale create depth within the asymmetrical composition. The work is on archival printmaking paper with deckled edges at the sides and mounted to an 18 x 24 sheet. The signature is on the front of the image.
Monica DeSalvo is a Boston-based mixed-media artist and designer with a BFA in Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Her work has been featured in juried and invitational exhibitions, as well as in several periodicals, and is part of collections in the United States and Europe. DeSalvo is represented by Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston.
