About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s “Stream of Cobbleness” is a 20 x 16 abstract collage composed of organically shaped fragments of acrylic monoprints in pink, green, yellow, green, teal, and blue. The collage’s first iteration, an image evoking gemstones or stones in water, was deconstructed into varying rectangles. A new composition was rebuilt with the rectangles arranged at different heights, some askew, and with spaces in between the forms. Textures were captured from textured papers and string by using a Gelli plate. The collage is constructed on off-white archival foam core. The signature is below the image.
