Music is my inspiration and every piece I paint has a "Voice". For this piece, I listened to Damien Rice's CD "9".
The abstract buildings in this piece where created from 3 Asian books with different colored papers that I collaged onto the work. I also used acrylic paint.
This painting is a diptych on two cradled masonite panels. It comes varnished and ready to hang. Each panel measures 20x23.5 inches.
About the Artist
As a child in the 1950s, Patricia Oblack sat in front of the television and learned to draw with Jon Gnagy’s New Television Art Instruction Book. The exercise led to a love of art, and in 1962 she begged her mother to purchase lessons from Art Instruction, Inc. in Minneapolis. Within a few weeks, a box arrived with art supplies, including her first palette knife. Patricia finished every lesson, and was in good company–another student of the school was renowned Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz. From that humble beginning, Patricia became a lifelong artist, currently creating dark, earthy abstracts, which she paints with the same palette knife from childhood.

Artist Libby Ramage is on a perpetual hunt for interesting wine labels to use for her art. "These two deeply colored Cabernet labels with the white secondary labels suggested to me passion in the quest for peace," shares Libby. "Is the dove out of their reach or just released? The eternal search for a peaceful existence is very much present in my own life as well as globally. Personally, I am working to keep myself healthy and the anxiety of our times at bay. Wine and art definitely help."
About the Artist
Libby Ramage infuses a playful and whimsical mood into her works. In fact, she credits the children she works with for greatly influencing her aesthetic. She often uses children’s abandoned work in her collages. Libby currently lives in New Jersey and finds inspiration in the work of Rauschenberg. She believes collectors should buy from the heart.
