About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “Up for Discussion” is a 16.5 x 13 inch unique abstract mixed media print represented on A3 Awagami Bamboo Japanese paper. Utilizing snapshots taken while the artist was in Texas, images of a roadside church and a playful dinosaur sculpture are combined to give nod to the often opposing view of creationism and evolution. The modern typeface on the church sign is a thought-provoking contrast to the roaring T-rex. Predominately in hues of blue, red, and black, the artist digitally cropped and deconstructed images then inkjet prints the imagery in layers on and within multiple applications of block printing ink. The result is a dynamic composition that thoughtfully incorporates the pictorial with the abstract. DeGrandpre’s one of a kind print is signed and dated under the bottom right corner of the image and will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. This vibrant contemporary print will not only make a welcomed addition to any modern collection but may prompt some discussion as well.
DeGrandpre has exhibited throughout the United States including three solo exhibitions. deGrandpre’s work has been featured in various periodicals as well as being the recipient of various awards in both Fine Art and Printmaking. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Patty deGrandpre
Patty deGrandpre is a New Mexico based artist. She received her BFA in Visual Design at Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1987. Her studio is in her home in Lamy, New Mexico. She has participated in many shows, both juried and invitational, at local, regional and national levels. In addition to three solo exhibitions, she has received accolades and awards over the years in both Fine Art and Printmaking.
