About the Item
René Galassi uses in his plastic technique: resins, paper, pure pigments, clay, golden and silver leaf, concrete and sand. Always seeking for new and textured materials.
In his last series “Caliquot and pigment” he uses paper as an almost sculptural element that he positions and glues, making a dialogue with a monochromatic purity.
Even if he started first with ink, willing a black and white simplicity, colour is yet a big part of his artistic language. He works with pure pigment and especially Yves Klein blue - Outremer blue - that he particularly affectionate.
His abstract art reflects his emotions and sensations. Very inspired by the land art movement and natural elements as water or ground, he creates lines, curves that bring him to a purification every time soberer and minimalist.
