A tulip-like shape emerges from a warm beige background. Three vertical bars extend from the top of the petals while sharp lines and a small brown circle hover on the bottom. Two small crosses and a square introduce a playful detail on the lower part of the composition. Artist Sally Morris Clark made the piece with Roman Clay, a durable hybrid of paint and plaster.

About the Artist
Artist Sally Morris Clark creates abstract compositions that explore the textures, patterns, and forms of nature. She began her creative path in graphic and set design, where she learned to fully immerse herself in a theme and work within a structure. “I start by creating a new set of rules for each series,” says Sally. She paints in a bright and airy purpose-built studio in New York’s Hudson Valley, using Roman Clay and traditional and handmade tools. When not making art, Sally enjoys surfing, hiking with her family, and cooking vegetables from her garden.
