About

Multiply Your Experiences 2014 collage made with discarded patterned envelopes 11”x14” $450 unframed $550 framed with white wood and plexiglas In her current series of meticulously constructed collages, Sarah Nicole Phillips painstakingly pieces together scenes of bureaucratic office life using the patterns printed on the inside of discarded security envelopes. The Toronto-born, Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist received her BA in Visual Studies from the University of Toronto and her MFA from Brooklyn College with a concentration in printmaking. She exhibits widely in Canada and the United States, and her work has been included in shows at the Queens Museum of Art, the International Print Center, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She recently had solo exhibitions at Court Tree Collective in Brooklyn, New York and the McKinley Arts and Culture Center in Reno, Nevada. Phillips has been awarded multiple grants from the Brooklyn Arts Council and participated in residencies at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center and the Lower East Side Printshop, where she still teaches. Her work is in the permanent collections of the James New York Hotel, the University of Toronto and the Lower East Side Printshop.
