Dénudée, the French word for unclad is evidently a contemplative piece-- one of passion, intimacy, and elegance, describes the feminine appearance and nature in one single case, the comfort and security are one, but the state of the flow in positioning is another.
Draped with a transparent sheet, the artist employs light and shadow to craft an evocative atmosphere, heightening the subject's emotionally secured vulnerability. Partially clothed with hands clasped- cupping her petit breasts and head tilted back, these all build up to her elegance, bringing about themes of repose, introspection, and deep emotion.
The stark contrast between the dark background and luminous highlights on the figure accentuates their form and expression, capturing the raw humanity and subtle beauty of the moment. Through a restrained monochromatic palette, the artist's intent to lure the viewer to explore not only the physical setting but also the inner emotional landscape of the subject does just the trick, further encouraging a provocative contemplation of the human becoming.

About Artist
Sayeed Momoh is a full-time studio painter based in Kaduna, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art (Painting) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Art at the same institution. He has had numerous of his works exhibited in various shows and galleries including the Life in My City Art Festival (2023), coupled also with Departmental Art Workshops. He is saddled and fully equipped with a passion for creative expression and dedication to honing his craft.
Through the expressive mediums of charcoal and paint, he reveals the beauty in the human experience. His drawings and paintings explore the depths of emotions, capturing the subtleties of the human condition with bold strokes and delicate shading. He unfailingly invites his audience to connect with the raw intensity of the human spirit. Momoh continues to explore the world of art and painting, driven by his inspiration and vision.
