About the Artist
Scott Hunter explores different arrangements of textures, colors and shapes through his abstract expressionist work. Though many different things inspire his art, he feels most encouraged by his drive to make paintings that mean something. As a kid, he stood with his mother at the National Gallery of Art and gazed at a Willem de Kooning piece. He told his mom he could've painted that himself. She challenged him to do so and he's been attempting to do so for the past 30 years. De Kooning became one of his biggest influences.
