About the Item
This original female figure painting was created by building up layers of board, hessian fabric and paint. Each layer is individual, but also combines with the other layers to create a harmonious whole. One of the layers extends, at a contrasting angle, beyond the frame, to create a striking visual effect. According to legend, Cessair was the leader of the first inhabitants of Ireland.
