About the Item

In "Indebted," the artist Tegan Brozyna Roberts weaves painted hand cut paper in between two layers of different color threads in abstract map-like formations. The paper pieces are seemingly suspended in this 3-d artwork. This work comes framed in a 3.25" deep wood frame with glass. This depth allows the three dimensional nature of the work to shine through. Brozyna Roberts creates dimensional paper collages that explore her relationship to her environment. Her work is not a replica of a physical place, but an expression of it. Referencing ideas of healing and repair, she deconstructs the world around her and then translates fragments into a new woven landscape that captures a sense of harmony. Brozyna Roberts (b. 1984) was born in Schenectady, NY, and currently lives and works in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. She received an MFA from Brooklyn College where she was a Graduate Teaching Fellow as well as a recipient of the Dean’s Award in Art. In 2019, Brozyna Roberts participated in Meta Open Arts (formerly Facebook AIR), which culminated in a permanent installation at Facebook’s New York office.

Color Boundaries #66, Abstract painting, Organza layered Fabric
By Natasha Zupan
Located in Miami Beach, FL
Natasha Zupan beautifully unites the old and new, combining the innovation of her highly crafted technique with her wonder for tradition and the great Masters. This body of work explores the manipulation of surface texture, light, and the interweaving of time. It is not about translating a world that already exists, but about an entrance into a different universe. A timeless, tactile world of sensation and overlapping memory. Combining Renaissance ideals and concepts with images taken from contemporary media, Natasha Zupan beautifully unites the old and the new in her collage work. Natasha combines the innovation of her elaborate technique with her charm for tradition and the inspiration of the great Masters. Her clear, bright brushstrokes and her play of light and shadow are both rhythmic and youthful. The female figures in her paintings have an undeniable Renaissance character at the time, but they are reborn in our understanding of contemporary aesthetics. Their classic faces become modern nymphs when combined with symbols of nature and beauty. Each figurative work harbors a unique and intricate personality. Powerfully expressive, they are at once pure, sensual, innocent and seductive. From Tactile Memory Series Organza layered Fabric...

Japanese Botany, Original Contemporary Abstract Mixed Media Textile Wall Hanging
Located in Boston, MA
Japanese Botany, Original Contemporary Abstract Mixed Media Textile Wall Hanging Artist Commentary: INSPIRED IN JAPANESE AESTHETICS Keywords: Abstract, Nature, patterns, circles, ovals, white Artist Biography: My artwork is engaged to nature and its recurrent patterns and rhythms. I use them as a base in order to create my compositions. I´m attracted to repetitive sequences, combining separate elements to form a cohesive group. It isn’t a strict conceptual idea of repetition on itself; my work doesn’t seek to impose an order or structure, but rather to enjoy the rhythm of repetition. Silk and paper have the softness and malleability that I need in order to create my desired forms, shapes and even shadows. The process to carry out my work is thorough and methodical. I choose as materials small and simple elements; such as feathers made out of paper and silk and then organized in a precise order. This allows me to build a group of entities that end up being the final artwork. My goal is to create projects that inspire, connect and touch people emotionally, taking the viewer on a journey through different ethereal, botanical and peaceful landscapes. I was Born in Santiago, Chile in 1973. I grew up surrounded by Chilean...
