About the Item
This dream- like mixed media piece depicts an incredible array of imagery and figures. Bright yellows, reds, blues, and oranges blend together throughout the the piece with the use of stippling and expressive marks. On the pictorial space is a cast of creatures that fills the page, creating a sense similar to that of mythology. Many of these creatures stand out from the colorful background by the use of white, black, and browns. The title and artist signature are on the front of this piece, as well as the back. This piece is being sold in a beautifully distressed golden frame with a deep red mat.
Terry McMaster grew up in Central New York and received a BA in Anthropology from SUNY Oswego. He attended Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute School of Art and received a Masters in Library Science and Social Work. Over the last 30 years he has been practicing psychotherapy, including Jungian-based depth psychology and dream interpretation, and the creation of painted and digital imagery that is both mysterious and beautiful. His photographs often look like paintings, and his paintings look like dreams. He has spent many years teaching expressive arts and using the arts to help people suffering from mental illness and addictions.
