About

This piece is an acrylic and vintage Japanese fabric collage on canvas. Artist's Statement: My work represents the memories of feelings, composed of thousands of small elements coexisting like cell structures in living organisms. There are infinite reasons why we feel what we feel, just as there are infinite colors derived in the spectrum of light. By composing these colors indulgently, I attempt to represent an introspective vision, referencing to my own personal memories as an example. I am constantly searching for the colors and color combinations to explore the unlimited variables of feeling and thought. This concept was originally inspired by the digital images created by thousands of tiny pixels. After some experiments with different mediums, I arrived at canvas-on-canvas collages utilizing the traditional technique of mosaic. More recently, the concept is being developed into site-specific glass wall installation projects and functional 3 dimensional projects as well. My process is extremely meticulous yet spontaneous in its execution, allowing natural instinct to guide the creativity and momentum of the work.
