About the Item
This 43.75" x 19.5" work incorporates three painted metal panels on a white wood base depicting a simplistic rendering of Adam from the biblical story of 'Adam & Eve'. The figure is slightly cut off on the right edge of the work, with the majority of the figure visible on the very right edge of his body, including an arm and shoulder. Adam's torso is unclothed and his lower half covered by a wrapped, light purple/pink cloth. Adam's one visible arm reaches above and to the left hand side of the work and looks as though he is about to grab a green leaf that hangs from the left side of top edge of the composition. His wrist is accessorized with a golden cuff. Just above his head are two more green leaves and an apple that hang from the right side of the top edge. Below Adam's raised arm, is a partially visible bowl of apples that sits upon a blue table. Emerging from the left hand side of the bottom edge is another green stem with three leaves branching off, positioned just in front of the blue table that the bowl of apples sits upon. The background of the work, behind the figure, table, bowl and leaves, is a white cloudy application of paint layered over a beige/light tan color.
The three panels are each the same size. The bottom panel consists of Adam's lower half, the blue table, the bottom of the bowl of apples, and the one plant that emerges from the bottom edge of the work. The middle panel consists of the bowl of the apples, Adam's torso, upper arm and shoulders. The top panel includes Adam's head, forearm and hand, as well as the two plants that hang from the top edge of the composition. The artist employs a linear style of paint application, in which the paint creates a line of vision, specifically defining and outlining the subjects within the work.

'I'll Be Back, ' by XVALA, Mixed Media Painting
By XVALA
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
'I'll Be Back,' by XVALA is a mixed media painting and colorful screen print with iridescent oil stick painting featuring the theme of the 'New World Order.' It was produced in 2015/16. The phrase 'I'll Be Back' is printed on the top and bottom margins of the work with the words 'New World Order' on the top margin. Three heads are stacked in the center of the canvas with the 'all seeing eye' on the top of the head.
XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His 'Fear Google' campaign exposed the decay of privacy and 'No Delete' used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information. The artist has worked with trash from the homes of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others, as well as dirt from the graves of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. The dirt appears in the New World Order collection as part of a pyramidal, 3D printed, living ant farm...
