About the Item
Here is an antique wooden painted dog tray in a primitive style featuring a dog in a wooded scene with a stream. I purchased this years ago and do not have any information other than the obvious to me. In researching online, I do not see any artists linked or listed to this kind of art form. Im guessing they did not sign their names?
In close inspection, the dog looks repainted and trimmed mostly around the back legs and upper back as you can see ghost brush marks covered over.
It measures 11.25 x 17.25 x 1. It looks like it needs a cleaning and new varnish as perhaps bloom is affecting it some which made it difficult to photograph. Displayed in the right area, it reads fine.

For art that I have painted, it is derived in a variety of ways. I'm a responder. I respond to light, color, design, etc. and I love painting both outdoors on location and in the studio under a controlled environment. I try to convey an idea, mood or just simply a beautiful setting. I'm inspired by a wide variety of subject matter and styles of painting and do not adhere to just one way.
My paintings have won numerous awards over the years and have been collected both nationally and internationally. They can be found in three museum collections, the White House Collection and many private collections.
