"In many civilizations, the bee is considered a mystical animal representing the priestess, pythonesses, and the souls of the initiates," says artist Yamilet Sempe. "A divine power is attributed to it." On the other hand, blue represents spirituality, order, and harmony. The bees' flight proposes the balance between the opposite worlds. The piece releases spiritual and artistic gifts as a bee does—to assume what it gives us arises from divine grace is the best of journeys.

About the Artist
Yamilet Sempe is a French-American artist who works in a boldly graphic abstract style visibly influenced by modernist aesthetics. She describes her color palette as being a reflection of her positive energy. Yamilet loves being in nature, finding inspiration in the sea near her Florida home. The subtropical weather and the brightness of the sun guides her choice to use primarily warm colors. Yamilet is also influenced by painter Hilma af Klint and the architecture of Paris.
