About the Item
Confidential Autograph Letters Signed by the French poet, Abel Bonnard (Poitier, 1883-Madrid 1968) to the Countess A.L.Pecci-Blunt.
In French. One page, single-sided. On letterhead paper "78. Avenue Mozart.XVI" . In perfect conditions, completely readable.

Very intimate letters of greetings of of thanks in which the French write declines the invitation to a pleasant journey to one of the Countess'residences: "en me parlant de votre Chere Italie". Correspondence written from 1932, when Abel Bonnard was officially recognized as member of the Académie Française, where he earned a reputation for having a very sharp pen.
Abel Bonnard (Poitiers, 1883 - Madrid 1968) French writer of Corsican origin; Abel Bonnard published some collections of verses: Les familiers (1906); Les histoires and Les royautés (1908), a novel: La vie et amour (1913). Other works: L'éloge de l'ignorance and La vie amoureuse d'Henri Beyle (1926); L'enfance (1927); L'amitié and L'argent(1929). During the Second World War he was Minister of National Education of the Vichy government. In 1932 he was elected a member of the Académie Française, where he earned a reputation for having a very sharp pen.Disbarred in 194, when he was sentenced to death in absentia on charges of collaborating with the Germans. Returning from Spain to France in 1958, he was sentenced to ten years of exile.

Pancrazio).

Typewritten Letter Signed. Washington, November 16th, 1920. One page, single-sided. In English. On letterhead paper "General of the Armies Washington". Excellent condition, including original envelope.
Letter of apology sent to the Count Cecil Charles Blumentahal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York: "I reget very much that I was unable to see you while you were in Washington".
John Joseph Pershing (Laclede, 1860 - Washington, 1948) John Joseph Pershing, best-known as "Black Jack", was an American general.
He distinguished himself in the Spanish-American war for his courage and after a long and brilliant career in the Philippines and Mexico against the rebels of the two countries. Pershing led the US expedition in World War I and later served as chief of staff of the United States Army. for this reason he is considered the mentor of a generation of US generals who fought in World War II such as George Marshall, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Omar Bradley, Lesley James McNair, George Smith Patton and Douglas MacArthur. Like George Washington, he was the only soldier to obtain the highest US military rank, that of General of the Armies of the United States.
Pershing was one of the first generals in history to be able to coordinate light infantry with twentieth-century war inventions such as tanks and armored cars for the great offensives during the punitive expedition to Mexico against Pancho Villa...

Born : Jatin Das is one of India's most prominent painters. He was born in Mayurbhanj Orissa in 1941.
Education :
He has completed his education in 1962 from Sir J. J. School of Fine Arts, Mumbai.
He has been also involved with art institutions, in several capacities as a teacher at the College of Art, New Delhi, and at the National School of Drama, New Delhi; as a consultant for the Handicrafts Board, and for the Folk Art Museum, Orissa, to mention a few of the positions he held.
