About the Item
The Perpetuations Neckpiece ( w/ detachable brooch) is a one-of-a kind wearable art piece by Alexandra Forsythe. The necklace has a detachable pin that can be removed and worn as a complement to the necklace or on it's own. This remarkable conversation piece is made of Sterling silver, with petrified wood, and agate.
The Instantiating Time Collection is a body of work reflecting objects that both embody and symbolize time. Instantiate means to represent or manifest an abstract concept. In this series of objects, Forsythe uses her own mental constructs and create an instance, a physical materialization of something intangible.
Alexandra was introduced to silversmithing by local jeweler at the young age of 14. At the age of 16 she attended the intensive jewelry program at the highly respected Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, CA. She is one of the youngest students ever to attend the program.
