Brian David Murphy is an artist who expresses himself in a multitude of ways. He first began painting watercolor scenes of tropical fish while living in Laguna Beach California. He then transitioned to painting large abstract mixed media paintings. Brian has always been attracted by the sea and is always ready to jump in regardless of weather. His creative aspirations have taken him far, both personally and professionally. In this body of work, of which a portion traveled to Italy spring of 2019, he was inspired by various geological formations that he encounters in his travels. Brian's creative stamp has been left in rock creations with two major theme parks in southern California, the Chicago Zoo, and other commercial and residential projects. Brian takes particular attention to all details of his artwork, though small in footprint, these paintings or sculptures have both tonal and textural quality.
