Artist Carey Parks paints four people crossing paths in a city park. "This photo was captured on a busy Saturday morning in Union Square in New York City," shares Carey. Each subject intent on going to their various destinations as they start their weekend. A bright contrast occurs between the piercing interplay of light and shadow.

About the Artist
Carey Parks recreates the nostalgia of a family album in her familiar scenes. Some of her works actually take inspiration from her own photographs and places she has visited. She also creates up-close portraits and colorful landscapes. She frequently mixes paint directly on the canvas to create interesting color mixtures.
