A small green bush stands out as a symbol of life against an eroded desert. The bright sun reveals the ruggedness of the badlands. A darker mesa rises in the distance, its blue and deep red shades capture both the cool tones of the sky and the warmth of the landscape.
About the Artist
Artist Crystal DiPietro paints majestic scenes drawn from her personal trips to beautiful, untamed places in Nevada. Her solitary hikes not only bring inspiration to her works but also help her overcome uncertainty and physical limits, all while connecting more deeply with nature. "There is no place where I feel more at home, more myself, than the desert," says Crystal. She pursued art school in Washington, D.C., where she got to go behind the scenes in major galleries. She paints en plein air and in her tiny studio in Las Vegas. When painting or hiking, Crystal enjoys reading, eating, and attending live concerts.
