Original title: La ville morte. Tragédie moderne en cinq actes. Représentée pour la première fois au Théatre de la Renaissance le 21 janvier 1898. Specimen number 1 of 50 numbered copies printed on Holland paper. La città morta is one of the first tragedies written by Gabriele D'Annunzio, performed for the first time at the Renaissance Theater (Paris) on January 21, 1898 by Sarah Bernhardt. On Italian stages it was performed by the superb Eleonora Duse. In-8º, in Italian, pp. 124, 21.5 x 1.5 x 15 cm, 1898. Leather binding in brown with six nerves and an engraving in relief of Medusa. In good conditions, although visible signs of aging, a usual yellowing of the paper and foxing traces. Some pages have been printed shorter than others.
