About the Item
Edition of 131 copies including 66 original b/w and colour lithographs by Giorgio De Chirico, plus repeats on title-page and front wrapper.
One of the 88 copies on papier de Chine, with original cover and slipcase designed by De Chirico.
The Calligrammes were composed by Apollinaire between 1912 and 1917, and are considered as the top of his poetic production and are for sure his most popular work along with Alcools (1913) and Le Poète Assassiné.
The Nouvelle Revue Française Edition of 1930 shows an innovative page design and a superb typography, on a support of a fine ivory handmade china paper.
Apollinaire’s compositions are divided into 6 groups of texts which follow the chronological order of composition:

- Etendards
- Case d’Armons
- Lueurs de tirs
- Obus couleur de Lune
- La Tete étoilée
Probably one of the most important XX century Artist Book illustrated by an italian artist, and one of the most important at european level.
